I just went for a run 4 days after my race. I had intended to actually take a week off, but i just couldn't do it. I missed running too much! WOW! if you had told me 5 months ago that I would go crazy taking 4 days off from running i would have laughed in your face.
When i left i promised myself i would take it easy and go for a nice slow 4 miler. It turned into a 7:12/mile 4 miler. I know i should have taken it easy, but i just couldn't do it. And it felt REALLY good.
What do you think? should i have taken the time off?
Honestly i wouldn't worry about it too much. You know your body better than anyone else. 4 miles probably was relatively short compared to what you have been running leading up to your half. besides you did take off 4 days. :)
ReplyDeletewell I wasn't too worried about it. :-) and yes other than my taper week it was a short run. which is crazy to think that 4 miles is a short run for me. I still am amazed at how far i have come as a runner.
